Summary
Product Identification
DuPont Nanofiltration (NF) membrane elements are designed for food and dairy processing applications, including desalting, purification, and other separations. These NF245 elements incorporate an improved nanofiltration membrane sheet engineered to reject organics with a molecular weight above 300 amu while allowing monovalent salts to pass.
The HYPERSHELL™NF245-390-FF features a polypropylene outer shell and complies with FDA Indirect Food Contact regulations. The HYPERSHELL™ design aims to:
- Minimize channeling & fluid bypass
- Prevent premature element failures
- Improve element hydrodynamics
HYPERSHELL™ elements require approximately 30% less flow for an equivalent pressure drop compared to mesh wrap designs, potentially saving energy. HYPERSHELL™390 elements are designed in an 8040 style with a 1-inch exposed product water tube instead of a flush cut end on each side.

Additional Important Information
Before use or storage, review the Usage Guidelines for FilmTec™ 8” Elements, Start-Up Sequence, and Storage and Shipping of New FilmTec™ Elements documents.
The use of this product does not inherently guarantee the removal of cysts and pathogens; effective reduction depends on complete system design, operation, and maintenance. Any concentrate or permeate from the first hour of operation should be discarded.
