Summary

Product identification

FilmTec™ Aqualast™ 1812 Elements are Residential Reverse Osmosis (RO) Elements featuring advanced membrane technology and precision manufacturing. They are spiral-wound elements with a polyamide thin-film composite membrane.

Key features include:

  • Anti-scaling design for stable, reliable performance under high water recovery operation
  • Long element life in high hardness waters
  • High rejection at start-up and after stabilization
  • Up to 20% higher flow versus competitive elements operated at the same pressure
  • NSF International safety certification
  • Dry shipping for convenient handling and long shelf-life

Operating limits

  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 113°F (45°C)
    • Maximum temperature for continuous operation above pH 10 is 95°F (35°C).
  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 150 psig (10 bar)
  • Maximum Feed Flow Rate: 2.0 gpm (7.6 lpm)
  • pH Range, Continuous Operation: 2 – 11
  • Maximum Feed Silt Density Index (SDI): SDI 5
  • Free Chlorine Tolerance: < 0.1 ppm

Product water

Typical Properties (based on 250 ppm NaCl, 77°F (25°C), pH 8.0, 15% recovery, and specified applied pressure):

  • Applied Pressure: 50 psig (3.4 bar)
  • Permeate Flow Rate: 75 GPD (12 L/h)
  • Typical Stabilized Salt Rejection: 98%
  • Minimum Salt Rejection: 96.0%

Permeate flows for individual elements may vary ±20%.

Mechanical / hydraulic

The FilmTec™ Aqualast™ 1812 element has the following dimensions:

  • A: 11.74 in. (298 mm.)
  • B: 0.875 in. (22.2 mm)
  • C: 0.68 in. (17 mm)
  • D: 1.75 in. (44.5 mm)
  • E: 9.98 in. (253.5 mm)

FilmTec™ Aqualast™ 1812 Residential Elements seal at a standard 2.0 inch – 2.05 inch I.D. within pressure vessels.

Additional important information

  • Elements must be kept moist at all times after initial wetting.
  • For installation, it is recommended to use a lubricant safe for indirect water contact on all seals, such as water, glycerin-based lubricants, or MOLYKOTE® 111 Compound.
  • Rotate the element about a quarter turn to ease installation and removal, ensuring good interface between the o-rings and brine seal with their connection surfaces.
  • Systems using these elements should rinse them for 24 hours prior to first use to meet NSF/ANSI 58 Standard.
  • The use of this product does not necessarily guarantee the removal of cysts and pathogens from water; effective reduction depends on complete system design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation should be discarded.
