Summary
Product identification
FilmTec™TW30-1812-50HR Elements are residential reverse osmosis (RO) elements. They are spiral-wound elements featuring a polyamide thin-film composite membrane.
Key features include:
- High rejection at start-up and after stabilization
- Up to 20% higher flow rates than competitive elements operated at the same pressure
- Stable, reliable performance even when treating high hardness waters
- NSF International safety certification with ability for NSF data transfer to reduce certification costs
- Dry shipping for convenient handling and long shelf-life
Product water
The typical properties are based on test conditions of 500 ppm NaHCO₃, 77°F (25°C), pH 8.0, 15% recovery, and specified applied pressure.
- Permeate Flow Rate: 50 GPD (7.9 L/h) at 50 psig (3.4 bar) applied pressure
- Typical Stabilized Salt Rejection: 99%
- Minimum Salt Rejection: 98.0%
- Permeate Flow Variation: Individual elements may vary +25%/-15%
The use of this product in and of itself does not necessarily guarantee the removal of cysts and pathogens from water. Effective cyst and pathogen reduction is dependent on the complete system design and on the operation and maintenance of the system. Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation should be discarded.
Operating limits
- Maximum Operating Temperature: 113°F (45°C)
- Maximum temperature for continuous operation above pH 10 is 95°F (35°C).
- Maximum Operating Pressure: 150 psig (10 bar)
- Maximum Feed Flow Rate: 2.0 gpm (7.6 lpm)
- pH Range, Continuous Operation: 2 – 11
- Maximum Feed Silt Density Index (SDI): SDI 5
- Free Chlorine Tolerance: < 0.1 ppm
- DuPont Water Solutions recommends removing residual free chlorine by pretreatment prior to membrane exposure, as oxidation damage is not covered under warranty.
Mechanical / hydraulic
The TW30-1812-50HR element has the following nominal dimensions:
- A: 11.74 in (298 mm)
- B: 0.875 in (22.2 mm)
- C: 0.68 in (17 mm)
- D: 1.75 in (44.5 mm)
- E: 9.4 in (239 mm)
TW30-1812 Residential Elements seal at a standard 2.0 inch – 2.05 inch I.D. within pressure vessels.
Additional Information
- Elements should be kept moist at all times after initial wetting.
- For installation, a lubricant safe for indirect water contact (e.g., water, glycerin-based lubricants, MOLYKOTE® 111 Compound) is recommended on all seals.
- Rotating the element about a quarter turn can ease installation and removal, ensuring a good interface between O-rings and the brine seal with their connection surfaces.
- The product may be subject to drinking water application restrictions in some countries; check the application status before use and sale.
