Summary

Product identification

FilmTec™ 4.6-inch diameter RO elements are designed for sanitary applications, utilizing the high-performance TW30HP membrane for excellent permeate flow and salt rejection. These elements are constructed from the same high-quality materials as larger FilmTec™ Elements used in municipal and industrial systems. They are available as either wet or dry products for convenience.

Performance

Permeate flow and salt rejection are based on test conditions of 2,000 ppm NaCl, 77°F (25°C), pH 8, and the specified pressure.

  • FilmTec™ TW30HP-4611
    • Product Water Flow Rate: 1,200 gpd (4.54 m³/d, 189 l/h)
    • Applied Pressure: 225 psig (15.5 bar)
    • Stabilized Salt Rejection (Cl⁻): 99.0%
    • Recovery Rate: 5%
  • FilmTec™ TW30HP-4619
    • Product Water Flow Rate: 1,450 gpd (5.49 m³/d, 229 l/h)
    • Applied Pressure: 225 psig (15.5 bar)
    • Stabilized Salt Rejection (Cl⁻): 99.0%
    • Recovery Rate: 8%
  • FilmTec™ TW30HP-4641
    • Product Water Flow Rate: 5,200 gpd (19.68 m³/d, 820 l/h)
    • Applied Pressure: 225 psig (15.5 bar)
    • Stabilized Salt Rejection (Cl⁻): 99.0%
    • Recovery Rate: 15%

Notes on Performance:

  • Minimum salt rejection for an individual element is 98.0%.
  • Flow rates for individual elements may vary ±20%.

Operating limits

  • Membrane Type: Polyamide Thin-Film Composite
  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 113°F (45°C)
    • Maximum temperature for continuous operation above pH 10 is 95°F (35°C).
  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 600 psi (4.1 MPa)
  • Maximum Pressure Drop: 15 psi (1.0 bar)
  • pH Range:
    • Continuous Operation: 2 - 11
    • Short-Term Cleaning: 1 - 13
  • Maximum Feed Silt Density Index (SDI): 5
  • Free Chlorine Tolerance: < 0.1 ppm (Under certain conditions, free chlorine and other oxidizing agents will cause premature membrane failure, which is not covered under warranty. Pretreatment to remove residual free chlorine is recommended.)

Important Operating Information

  • Keep elements moist at all times after initial wetting.
  • Failure to strictly follow operating specifications may void the warranty.
  • To prevent biological growth during storage, shipping, or system shutdowns, elements should be immersed in a protective solution. The standard storage solution contains 1.0 percent (by weight) sodium metabisulfite (food grade).
  • The customer is fully responsible for the effects of incompatible chemicals on elements; their use will void the warranty.
  • The use of this product alone does not guarantee the removal of cysts and pathogens from water; effective reduction depends on the complete system design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation should be discarded.
