Summary

Product identification

FilmTec™ 4.6-inch diameter reverse osmosis (RO) elements are designed to provide high-quality water for sanitary applications. They feature the high-performance TW30HP membrane, known for excellent permeate flow and salt rejection. These elements are constructed with the same high-quality materials as larger FilmTec™ Elements used in municipal and industrial systems. They are available in wet or dry form for shipping, storage, and loading convenience.

Operating limits

  • Membrane Type: Polyamide Thin-Film Composite
  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 113°F (45°C)
  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 600 psi (4.1 MPa)
  • Maximum Pressure Drop: 15 psi (1.0 bar)
  • pH Range:
    • Continuous Operation: 2 - 11 (Maximum temperature for continuous operation above pH 10 is 95°F (35°C))
    • Short-Term Cleaning: 1 - 13
  • Maximum Feed Silt Density Index: 5
  • Free Chlorine Tolerance: < 0.1 ppm (Under certain conditions, the presence of free chlorine and other oxidizing agents will cause premature membrane failure. Oxidation damage is not covered under warranty; removal of residual free chlorine by pretreatment is recommended).

Important Operating Information

  • Elements must be kept moist at all times after initial wetting.
  • Failure to strictly follow operating specifications may void the FilmTec™ Reverse Osmosis and Nanofiltration Three-Year Prorated Limited Warranty.
  • For biological growth prevention during storage, shipping, or shutdowns, elements should be immersed in a protective solution (e.g., 1.0% by weight sodium metabisulfite, food grade).
  • Customers are responsible for the effects of incompatible chemicals on elements; their use will void the warranty.
  • The use of this product does not guarantee the removal of cysts and pathogens from water; effective reduction depends on complete system design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation should be discarded.
