Summary
Product identification
The TM800M Series consists of Standard Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane Elements. Toray's RO membrane technology is based on decades of R&D and precision automated manufacturing under ISO 9001. These state-of-the-art cross-linked fully aromatic polyamide composite membranes are designed to produce high-quality permeate and offer robust membrane chemistry for improved performance and longer membrane life.

Performance data is tested under the following conditions:
- Feed water pressure: 800 psi (5.52 MPa)
- Feed water temperature: 77 °F (25°C)
- Feed water concentration: 32,000 mg/L as NaCl
- Recovery rate: 8%
- Feed water pH: 7
Typical Boron Rejection: 95% at pH 8 (with 5 mg/L Boron added to feed water).
Dimensions

- High salinity feed water
- Industrial wastewater
- High recovery RO systems
Operating limits
- Maximum operating pressure: 1,200 psi (8.3 MPa)
- Maximum feed water temperature: 113 °F (45°C)
- Maximum feed water SDI₁₅: 5
- Feed water chlorine concentration: Not detectable
- Feed water pH range:
- Continuous operation: 2–11
- Chemical cleaning: 1–12
- Maximum pressure drop per element: 15 psi (0.10 MPa)
- Maximum pressure drop per vessel: 50 psi (0.34 MPa)
Operating Information
- Not strictly following the stated operating limits will void the Limited Warranty.
- All RO elements are wet tested, treated with a 1% by weight sodium bisulfite storage solution, and then vacuum packed in oxygen barrier bags or treated with a tested feed water solution and vacuum sealed with deoxidant.
- It is recommended to flush Toray RO elements for 30 to 60 minutes once every two days with sufficient quality flushing water (e.g., pre-treated feed water) to prevent biological growth during system shutdown.
- The presence of free chlorine and other oxidizing agents (especially with heavy metals as oxidation catalysts) in feed water can cause unexpected membrane oxidation. Toray strongly recommends removing these oxidizing agents before operating the RO system.
- Permeate from the first hour of operation shall be discarded.
- The customer is fully responsible for the effects of chemicals incompatible with the elements; their use will void the element Limited Warranty.
- Maximum operating pressure may vary depending on feed temperature. Consult Toray for detailed information if needed.
