Summary

Product Identification

Optum Series Elements are designed for critical food and dairy separation processes, requiring high production yields and state-of-the-art sanitary construction. This series includes Optum Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Optum Nanofiltration (NF) elements.

Key Features

  • Energy Efficiency: Reduced energy consumption and carbon footprint of the recirculation pump by up to 9% versus other shelled elements, and up to 25% versus standard cage-wrapped elements. Features an innovative design with two engineered sleeves to minimize fluid bypass.
  • Improved Ergonomics: Requires 10-20% less force during installation and removal, and maintains better element scroll integrity for easier removal and improved operational lifetime.
  • Construction: Blister-free construction from previous generations, utilizing a Durasan* cage underneath the sleeves.
  • Reduced Plastic Waste: Keeps over 1,100 lbs (500 kg) of plastic out of landfills over 10 years in a plant with 200 elements, compared to other shelled elements.
  • High Performance RO: Maximizes concentration and dewatering with high rejection of dissolved solids and low molecular weight organic constituents (e.g., lactose, BOD/COD contributors).
  • Differentiated NF: Characterized by a molecular weight cut-off of 150-300 Dalton for uncharged organic molecules and the ability to preferentially reject divalent and multivalent ions while passing monovalent ions for lactose and whey desalting.
  • Extended Shelf Life: Achieved through enhanced packaging techniques.
