Summary

Product identification

  • Model: LP22-8040PRO
  • Series: Low Pressure RO Membrane Elements - LP Series

Application

The LP Series is primarily used for the desalination of brackish water, featuring low operating pressure, high permeate flow, and high rejection rates. It demonstrates high performance in rejecting soluble salt, TOC (Total Organic Carbon), and SiO₂.

Typical applications include:

  • Industrial pure water production in sectors such as electric power, steel, and chemical industry.
  • Desalination of drinking water for pure water and packaged water.

Product Performance

The following performance specifications are based on a test condition of 225 psi (1.55 MPa) operating pressure, 2000 mg/L NaCl solution, 25 ℃ temperature, pH 7.0 ± 0.5, and 15% recovery rate.

  • Model: LP22-8040PRO
  • Stable Rejection Rate: 99.7 %
  • Permeate Flow: 11000 GPD (41.6 m³/d)
  • Active Membrane Area: 400 ft² (37.2 m²)
  • Feed Spacer Thickness: 28 mil

Note: Each membrane element may have ±15% variation in permeate flow.

Operating limits

  • Maximum operating pressure: 600 psi (4.14 MPa)
  • Maximum feedwater temperature: 45 ℃
  • Maximum inlet flow rate: 17 m³/h
  • Maximum concentration of free chlorine: 0.1 mg/L
  • Maximum pressure drop per element: 15 psi (0.1 MPa)
  • Allowed pH range for feedwater in operation: 2-11
  • Allowed pH range for chemical cleaning: 1-13
  • Maximum feedwater SDI₁₅: 5

Mechanical / hydraulic

  • Packing carton (L:W:H): 1080×216×232 mm
  • Connector material number: 3.02.09.0006

Important Information

  • Preservation:
    • Dry membrane elements leave the factory without preservation solution and must be kept wet after initial soaking.
    • Wet membrane elements contain 1.0% sodium bisulfite (with 10% propylene glycol antifreeze in winter) as a preservation solution for storage.
    • When wet membrane elements are not used for a long time, preservation solution is required.
  • Initial Startup Flush:
    • Recommended initial flush at low pressure for 15-25 minutes (avoid soaking overnight).
    • Followed by a high-pressure flush for 60-90 minutes (water flow ≥ 50% of system design flow).
  • Initial Operation Discharge: The permeate water and concentrated water from the first hour of initial operation must be discharged.
  • Warranty: The operating limits and guidelines presented in this document are part of the limitations for the three-year membrane element warranty.
  • Prohibited Chemicals: The addition of any chemicals that may affect the membrane element during storage and operation is prohibited. Vontron Technology will not be liable for consequences arising from the use of such chemicals.
  • Further Details: Refer to the Product Manual for comprehensive details on installation, commissioning, storage, and transportation of membrane elements.
