Summary
Product identification
The PURO-I is a Strengthened RO Membrane Element from the Helixfil Series, designed for improved fouling resistance and resilience to chemical cleaning due to its enhanced polyamide desalination layer cross-link strength.
Application
- Pure water production from surface water (e.g., lake water, river water).
- Desalination of reclaimed water (e.g., industrial wastewater, RO concentrated water).

Important information on storage and operation
- Dry membrane elements leave the factory without preservation solution.
- Wet membrane elements contain 1.0% sodium bisulfite as preservation solution (with 10% propylene glycol antifreeze added in winter) and are vacuum packaged.
- Dry membrane elements must be kept wet after initial soaking. Wet membrane elements not in use for extended periods require preservation solution.
- For initial use, a two-stage flush is recommended: 15-25 minutes at low pressure, followed by 60-90 minutes at high pressure (water flow not less than 50% of system design flow).
- Permeate water and concentrated water from the first hour of initial operation must be discharged.
- The specified operating limits are integral to the three-year warranty for the membrane element.
- Adding any chemicals that could affect the membrane during storage or operation is prohibited. Vontron Technology disclaims liability for consequences arising from such use.
- Refer to the Product Manual for detailed instructions on installation, commissioning, storage, and transportation.
