Important Information

• Preservation:
  • Dry membrane elements leave the factory without preservation solution but must be kept wet after soaking.
  • Wet membrane elements are vacuum packaged with 1.0% sodium bisulfite as a preservation solution (10% propylene glycol antifreeze is added in winter). Preservation solution is required for wet elements not in use for extended periods.
• Initial Operation:
  • Recommended flushing for 15-25 minutes at low pressure (avoid soaking overnight).
  • Follow with 60-90 minutes flushing at high pressure (water flow not less than 50% of system design).
  • Permeate water and concentrated water from the first hour of initial operation must be discharged.
