Summary

Product Identification

The VUF series offers spiral-wound ultrafiltration membrane elements, with the specific model VUF8040-10K/31F detailed. These elements are designed for the separation and concentration of materials with a Molecular Weight Cut-Off (MWCO) ranging from 4k to 67k Da.

The VUF series is primarily used for:

  • Screening and separation of organic substances in industries such as food processing and bioengineering.

The elements feature a feed channel spacer thickness of 31, 46, or 90 mil, and are compatible with fiberglass or sanitary-grade housings.

Product Performance

Model: VUF8040-10K/31F

  • MWCO: 10000 Da
  • Permeate Flow: 7000 GPD (26.5 m³/d)
  • Active Membrane Area: 400 ft² (37.2 m²)
  • Feed Spacer Thickness: 31 mil

Note: Performance data is based on a 1000 mg/L PEG10000 solution at 40 psi (0.28 MPa) operating pressure, 25℃ temperature, and 15% recovery rate. Each membrane element may exhibit ±25% variation in permeate flow.

Operating Limits

  • Maximum operating pressure: 300 psi (2.07 MPa)
  • Maximum feedwater temperature: 40 ℃
  • Maximum inlet flow rate: 19 m³/h
  • Maximum concentration of free chlorine: Not specified
  • Maximum pressure drop per element: 15 psi (0.1 MPa)
  • Allowed pH range for feedwater in operation: 3-10
  • Allowed pH range for chemical cleaning: 2-12
  • Maximum feedwater flow SDI₁₅: 5

Mechanical / Hydraulic

  • Packing carton (L:W:H): 1080×216×232 mm
  • Connector material number: 3.02.09.0006

Important Information

  • Preservation:
    • Dry membrane elements leave the factory without preservation solution but must be kept wet after soaking.
    • Wet membrane elements are vacuum packaged with 1.0% sodium bisulfite as a preservation solution (10% propylene glycol antifreeze is added in winter). Preservation solution is required for wet elements not in use for extended periods.
  • Initial Operation:
    • Recommended flushing for 15-25 minutes at low pressure (avoid soaking overnight).
    • Follow with 60-90 minutes flushing at high pressure (water flow not less than 50% of system design).
    • Permeate water and concentrated water from the first hour of initial operation must be discharged.
  • General Use:
    • Operating limits and guidelines are part of the three-year warranty.
    • Addition of any chemicals that may affect the membrane element during storage and operation is prohibited.
    • Refer to the Product Manual for detailed information on installation, commissioning, storage, and transportation.
