Summary

Product Identification

The VUF series consists of Spiral Wound Ultrafiltration Membrane Elements.

This series is mainly used for separation and concentration of specific material with molecular weight cut off (MWCO) at 4k, 6k, 8k, 10k, 20k, 67k Da. VUF series applies feed channel spacers of 31, 46 and 90mil, and can be equipped with fiberglass housing or sanitary-grade housing.

Applications include:

  • Screening and separation of organic substances
  • Food processing
  • Bioengineering and other industries

General Operational Notes

  • Preservation: Dry membrane elements have no preservation solution. Wet membrane elements contain 1.0% sodium bisulfite (with 10% propylene glycol antifreeze in winter) for storage and are vacuum packaged.
  • Storage: Dry membrane elements should always be maintained wet after soaking. Wet membrane elements not used for a long time require preservation solution.
  • Initial Start-up:
    • Flush for 15-25 minutes at low pressure (not suitable for soaking or soaking overnight).
    • Then flush for 60-90 minutes at high pressure (water flow should not be less than 50% of system design flow).
    • Permeate and concentrated water from the first hour of operation must be discharged.
  • Chemicals: The addition of any chemicals that may affect the membrane element during storage and operation is prohibited.
  • Refer to the Product Manual for detailed information on installation, commissioning, storage, and transportation.
