Summary
Product identification
The VUF8040-6K/31F is a Spiral Wound Ultrafiltration Membrane Element from the VUF series.
Application
The VUF series is primarily used for the separation and concentration of specific materials, with Molecular Weight Cut Off (MWCO) ranging from 4k to 67k Da. This specific model has an MWCO of 6000 Da. It is equipped with a 31 mil feed channel spacer and can be housed in fiberglass or sanitary-grade housings.
Typical applications include:
- Screening and separation of organic substances.
- Food processing.
- Bioengineering and other industries.
Product Performance
- Model: VUF8040-6K/31F
- MWCO: 6000 Da
- Permeate Flow: 6500 GPD (24.6 m³/d)
- Active Membrane Area: 400 ft² (37.2 m²)
- Feed Spacer Thickness: 31 mil
Note on Test Conditions: Performance is based on a 1000 mg/L PEG6000 solution, operating pressure of 60 psi (0.41 MPa), temperature at 25℃, and a recovery rate of 15%. Each membrane element may exhibit ±20% variation in permeate flow.
Operating limits
- Maximum operating pressure: 300 psi (2.07 MPa)
- Maximum feedwater temperature: 40 ℃
- Maximum inlet flow rate: 19 m³/h
- Maximum concentration of free chlorine: Not specified
- Maximum pressure drop per element: 15 psi (0.1 MPa)
- Allowed pH range for feedwater in operation: 3-10
- Allowed pH range for chemical cleaning: 2-12
- Maximum feedwater SDI₁₅: 5
Preservation & Initial Operation
- Dry membrane elements: Leave the factory without preservation solution. Must be maintained wet after initial soaking.
- Wet membrane elements: Contain 1.0% sodium bisulfite solution for preservation (in winter, 10% propylene glycol antifreeze is added). They are vacuum packaged. When not in use for extended periods, preservation solution is required.
- Initial flush (first use):
- 15-25 minutes at low pressure (avoid soaking overnight).
- Followed by 60-90 minutes at high pressure (water flow not less than 50% of system design flow).
- Initial discharge: Permeate and concentrated water from the first hour of operation must be discharged.
- Chemicals: Adding any chemicals that may affect the membrane element during storage and operation is prohibited.
- Warranty: The operating limits and guidelines provided are part of the limitations of the three-year membrane element warranty.
- Manual: Refer to the Product Manual for detailed instructions on installation, commissioning, storage, and transportation.
Dimensions and Packaging
- Packing carton (L:W:H): 1080×216×232 mm
- Connector material number: 3.02.09.0006
