Product Codes and Selection

The 801 Series cartridges are available in seven nominal micron ratings (0.35, 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 µ) with corresponding color-coded end caps for identification (Brown, Tan, White, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, respectively).

Cartridges are available in various lengths, including single (regular and high temp), double, triple, and specific lengths (10", 20", 30", 40") for competitive filter housings. Single length cartridges are also available shrink-wrapped, designated by "W" following the product code.

Performance Characteristics

Low Pressure Drop: Pressure drops are exceptionally low due to high surface area and Polyester-Plus™ engineered media. Dirt Holding Capacity Comparison (5 Micron Cartridges): Tests comparing 5 micron cartridges at 30 psid (2 bar) differential using a concentrated mixture of water and coarse test dust (3% solids by weight) showed:

• Harmsco 801: 12.0 oz. (340 grams) solids removed, 50.4 gals. (189 liters) filtered.
• WaterBetter: 7.0 oz. (199 grams) solids removed, 33.2 gals. (124 liters) filtered.
• Resin Bonded: 3.3 oz. (94 grams) solids removed, 8.4 gals. (32 liters) filtered.
• Spun Polypropylene: 2.5 oz. (71 grams) solids removed, 5.9 gals. (22 liters) filtered.
• String Wound: 2.1 oz. (60 grams) solids removed, 4.0 gals. (15 liters) filtered.
