Summary

Product identification

Heco AKS-137 Automatic Filters are compact, self-cleaning automatic filters. They feature robust construction suitable for cleaning a wide range of liquids.

The filters are designed for continuous operation without flow interruption during cleaning. The filtration principle uses an asymmetric edge-gap element, retaining dirt particles on its surface.

The standard AKS filters are supplied in stainless acid-proof steel EN 1.4404. The filter element is fully welded in stainless acid-proof steel EN 1.4404.

Operating limits

  • Design pressure: 16 bar
  • Test pressure: According to EN 13445
  • Max differential pressure: 2.5 bar (8 bar)
  • Max working temperature: 110° C (water) according to customers requirements
  • Minimum positive pressure (system): 0.1 bar
  • Power supply: 3 x 230/400 V, 50 Hz
  • Air supply: 5-7 bar, filtered
  • Filtration range: 50, 100, 130, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 micron

Feed water

The filter is suitable for cleaning practically all liquids, including:

  • Tung oil
  • Lubricating oil
  • Bitumen
  • Grease
  • Paint
  • Toothpaste
  • Water
  • Fermentation liquids
  • Petrol
  • Syrup
  • Condensate
  • CIP liquids
  • Antibiotic suspensions

Product water / Cleaning process

The cleaning process is initiated automatically at a preset differential pressure. An integrated PLC allows individual programming of the cleaning sequence and control of the drain valve.

During cleaning:

  • The filter insert rotates, and three fixed blades scrape dirt into a sludge chamber.
  • The dirt is drained from the sludge chamber at appropriate intervals.
  • The process results in defined absolute cleaning and controlled drainage.
  • Flow continues during scraping; the filter does not need to be blocked off.
  • The flow is not interrupted during cleaning.
  • Drainage normally occurs over 1-3 seconds, with a minor drop in system pressure.
  • Liquid flow in the filter is reduced by approximately 5-10% during drainage.
  • The differential pressure for cleaning activation can be set via the PLC, allowing dirt concentration before drainage to reduce product loss.

Electrical

  • Power supply: 3 x 230/400 V, 50 Hz
  • Control: Operated by an integrated PLC with motor protection, gear motor, and two pressure transmitters.

Mechanical / Hydraulic

The filter construction prioritizes robustness and reliability, with minimal moving components to reduce wear and maintenance.

  • Flange connection: EN 1092-1/11
  • Air valve: G1/4B
