HI-V Resin Bonded Filter Cartridges

Engineering summary from PDF text extraction for HI-V Resin Bonded Filter Cartridges. Verify every value with the OEM datasheet.

Summary

Product identification

The HI-V® Resin Bonded Series filter cartridges are designed for highly viscous fluids, offering reliable and consistent filtration. They feature negligible media migration, one-piece construction without epoxies, glues, or adhesives, and a high contaminant-holding capacity with very high flow rates. The absence of a center core allows for easy disposal. These cartridges serve as an exceptional, economical particle classifier for pigmented coatings.

Operating limits

  • Maximum Temperature Rating:
    • Aqueous and non-aqueous liquids: 82°C (180°F)
    • Gases: 121°C (250°F)

Applications

HI-V Series filter cartridges are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, delivering consistent contaminant removal and long service life. Typical applications include:

  • Adhesives, Coatings, and Inks (e.g., adhesive emulsions, enamels, box inks, lacquers, paints, sealants, shellac, varnishes, waxes)
  • Petroleum Products (e.g., asphalts, crude oils, fuel oils, grease, hydraulic fluid, kerosene lubricating oils, machine coolants)
  • Resins (e.g., acrylics, alkyds, aminos, epoxies, silicones, urethanes, vinyls)
  • Waterbases (e.g., antifreeze, cooling tower water, industrial process water, oil well completion solutions, salt water, water)
  • Other Applications (e.g., animal oils, cosmolene elastomers, plasticizers, tung oils, turpentine, glycerine inorganic acids (dilute))

Note: Hi-V Series filters are not recommended for use with food, beverage, drug, or potable water applications.

Other Features

  • Low Media Migration: Hi-V cartridges utilize wound resin-impregnated fibers that are four to six inches in length, significantly longer than typical molded cartridges (less than one-eighth inch). This design minimizes fiber migration downstream, preventing equipment damage and the need for pre-filtration recirculation to clean up filter debris.

Ordering Information

Part numbers follow a format such as RPN – (e.g., 50RPN10–EE). Options for the extended core include:

  • Blank: No extended core
  • EE: Polyester
