Summary
Product identification
Pall Aerolith S filter material is an alumosiliceous ceramic material, described as a further development of the Pall® Aerolith product with improved properties. It is produced from selected high quality ceramic raw materials in cylinder, candle, or tile forms. Key features include higher mechanical stability and improved pH resistance in the alkaline range. The porous labyrinth structure offers high particle storage capacity for depth filtration applications.
Operating limits
- Maximum Temperature: Up to 700 °C (depending on operating conditions).
- pH Resistance: Resistant up to pH 10 in the alkaline range.
Chemical Resistance
Aerolith S filter elements are resistant against most acids, saline solutions, and organic solvents (liquid or gaseous). They are not resistant to hydrofluoric acid.
Applications
Cylinders:
- Particle filtration of Liquids (Acids, water and alcohol)
- Particle filtration of Gases (Process gases, mixed gas, air, sewer gas, natural gas, and liquid gas)
- Coalescer (Compressed air, nitrogen and carbon dioxide)
- Storing Media (Water, colour and ink)
- Vacuum Lance (Retention of fire extinguishing powder)
Plates:
- Nutsches (Mud thickening)

Flow vs Differential Pressure
The document includes a graph titled "Differential Pressure for Air Flow" (T = 20 ºC) showing Face Velocity (m/h) on the y-axis (0-8) against Differential Pressure (kPa) on the x-axis (0-400) for AES 05, AES 10, AES 20, and AES 30. The curves generally show increasing differential pressure with increasing face velocity for all AES types, with AES 05 exhibiting the highest differential pressure for a given face velocity, followed by AES 10, AES 20, and AES 30.
