Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: Pentair® Pentek® CRE-1 Ceramic Cartridge
- Model #: CRE-1
- Part #: 155159-43
- Description: Manufactured from a sintered ceramic filtration media, designed for the reduction of small particles and fine sediment filtration.
- Filter Media: Sintered Ceramic
- Features:
- Fine ceramic media traps impurities down to 1 micron in diameter.
- Nominal 1 micron rating.
- 1/2" thick ceramic wall allows for many cleanings, extending cartridge life.
- Knife-edge seal prevents water bypass.
Operating limits
- Temperature Rating: 40-125°F (4.4-51.7°C)
Feed water
- Caution: Do not use where water is microbiologically unsafe or with water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
- Note: Not for residential sale in the state of California.
Product water
- Filtration Rating (Nominal):
- Effectively traps dirt, sediment, and small particles down to 1 micron in diameter.
- 3-4 micron @ 99.95% (Based on manufacturer's internal testing.)
- Intended Use: Specifically designed for sediment filtration and the reduction of Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts, not to kill or filter bacteria.
Mechanical / hydraulic
- Maximum Dimensions: 1.88" x 9.75" (48 mm x 248 mm)
- Lengths: 10"
- Initial ΔP (Differential Pressure): 19 psi @ 1 gpm (1.3 bar @ 3.8 Lpm)
- Materials of Construction:
- Filter Media: Sintered Ceramic
- Endcaps: Thermoset Polymeric
- Gaskets: Buna-N
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Cartridges are easily cleaned with water and a damp cloth, sponge, or stiff nylon brush. They can be cleaned several times until the diameter at the smallest point is 1-1⁄2" or the circumference is 4-3⁄4".
- Handling: Sharp blows, dropping, or freezing can cause cracks in the ceramic. Discard and replace if cracked or frozen.
