Summary
Product identification
Pentair® Pentek® RFC Series Cartridges are radial flow carbon cartridges designed for high-flow applications, particularly point-of-entry (POE). They are constructed with a granular activated carbon (GAC) bed sandwiched between an outer shell and a core. The unique radial flow design provides the benefits of GAC filtration, such as low pressure drop, while significantly reducing the release of carbon fines.
Features & Benefits
- Provides effective chlorine taste & odor reduction*
- Unique design reduces carbon fines in filtered water
- Ideal for point-of-entry (POE) and other high flow rate applications
- Available in a wide variety of sizes
Mechanical / Hydraulic
Construction Materials:
- Filter Media: Granular activated carbon
- Outer Shell: Polyethylene (70-micron porous)
- Endcaps: Polypropylene
- Gaskets: Buna-N
- Core:
- Polypropylene for 2-3⁄4" outer diameter cartridges
- Spun polypropylene for 4-1/2" outer diameter cartridges
Operating limits
- Temperature Rating: 40-125°F (4.4-51.7°C)
