Summary

Product identification

Pentair® Pentek® Coconut-Based Carbon Block Cartridges are designed for reducing unwanted taste and odor, and chlorine taste & odor from potable drinking water, as well as fine sediment. These cartridges are made from a water-washed, coconut-carbon formulation, featuring an outer wrap to increase useful life by trapping sediment.

They are suitable for residential, food service, commercial, and industrial applications, and can serve as polishing filters or pre-filters.

Features/Benefits:

  • Water-washed coconut-carbon formulation
  • Enhanced dirt-holding capacity
  • Premium high capacity bad taste and odor, and chlorine taste & odor reduction

Materials:

  • Filter Media:
    • CCBC: Water-Washed Coconut Based Carbon
    • CEP: Acid-Washed Coconut Based Carbon
  • Endcaps: Polypropylene
  • Outer Wrap: Polyolefin
  • Netting: Polyethylene
  • Gaskets: Buna-N

Operating limits

  • Temperature Rating: 40-125°F (4.4-51.7°C)

Feed water

  • Warning: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
  • Note: Cartridges may contain a very small amount of carbon fines (very fine black powder). After installation, follow instructions for flushing the cartridge to remove fines before using the water. Flush the tap for at least 20 seconds prior to using water for drinking or cooking, especially if the tap has not been used daily.

Product water
