Summary
Product Identification
Pentaflex Absolute-rated PES Membrane Cartridges are designed for general purpose filtration, as well as specialized needs in the food and beverage, electronics, and high-purity chemical industries. These cartridges combine polypropylene with polyethersulfone membrane material.
Materials of Construction
- Filter Media: Polypropylene / Polyethersulfone
- Endcaps & Supports: Polypropylene
- Center Cores: Polypropylene
- Outer Support Cages: Polypropylene
Dimensions
- Lengths: Available in 10”, 20”, 30” and 40” (254, 508, 762 and 1016 mm)
- Nominal Outside Diameter: 2.70” (69 mm)
Performance
- Efficiency Rating: Exceeds 99.98% (beta 5000)
- Particle Reduction: Reduces particles as small as 0.1 micron in size by mechanical means (not intended for removal of microbial pests).
- Membrane: Highly asymmetric PES membrane for full particle retention.
- Flow Rates: Designed for high flow rates.
- Electronics Grade: 18 megohm flushed and individually tested.
- Surface Area: Electronics and General Grade cartridges contain approximately 30% more surface area than the Water Grade.
Operating Limits
- Max. Temperature Rating: 176˚F (80˚C)
- Max. Differential Pressure:
- 50 PSID (3.4 bar) forward
- 40 PSID (2.8 bar) reverse
Sterilization
- Hot Water: 176˚F (80˚C) for 30 minutes.
- Steam Sterilization: 250˚F (121˚C) for multiple cycles.
- Note: A stainless steel insert is required for cartridges that will be sterilized/sanitized with steam or hot water.
Applications
- Chemicals
- Deionized Water Systems
- Electronics
- Food and Beverage
- General Use Water
- Industrial
- Post-filter for RO Systems
Flow Rate vs. Pressure Drop
Pressure drop versus flow rate curves are provided for Water Grade, General Grade, and Electronics Grade cartridges. The flow rate is specified per single 10” water-grade element. For other liquids, the differential pressure (ΔP) should be multiplied by the fluid’s viscosity in centipoise. For longer cartridges, the ΔP should be divided by the number of 10” equivalents. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values and graphical representations.
Other Features
- Manufactured from FDA-listed materials.
- Meets USP Class IV biological test for plastics.
- Multiple endcap configurations and O-ring materials are available.
- Case Quantity: 6 per case.
