BP, BPHE & BN Filter Bags

Engineering summary from PDF text extraction for BP, BPHE & BN Filter Bags. Verify every value with the OEM datasheet.

Summary

Product Identification

The BP, BPHE, & BN Series Filter Bags are designed with a thermally-welded, unique design for consistent filtration efficiencies. They are compatible with BPHE-410 and BPHE-420 Housings. The semi-rigid cylindrical design allows for easy crushing and incineration.

BP Series (Polypropylene Felt)

  • Filtration ratings from 1 to 200 microns.
  • Manufactured from felt for high solids loading capabilities.
  • Features a glazed finish to reduce fiber migration.

BPHE Series (High-Efficiency)

  • Designed for critical applications requiring high-efficiency combined with high dirt-holding capacity.
  • Polypropylene materials are processed into microfibers (1 to 10 microns or more) and converted into filter material.
  • Microfiber media is covered with spun-bonded polypropylene.

BN Series (Strainer)

  • Made from woven monofilament nylon with micron ratings of 50 to 800.
  • Efficiencies range from 75 to 95%.
  • Materials are cleanable and reusable.

Applications

  • Acids
  • Alkalis
  • Corrosive Fluids
  • Micro-organisms
  • Oils
  • Organic Solvents

Operating Limits

  • Maximum Temperature: 200˚F (93.3˚C)

Warnings and Cautions:

  • For drinking water applications, do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
  • Users should test bag materials with the media involved to determine compatibility.
  • Protect against freezing to prevent cracking of the filter and water leakage.

Pressure Drop vs. Flow Rate

Pressure drop vs. flow rate charts are provided in the original document, showing performance for Polypropylene Felt Bags and High-Efficiency Bags across various micron sizes, at 1 cps @ 77˚F (25˚C). See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.

Viscosity Correction Chart

This chart provides correction factors for liquids with viscosity greater than 1 centipoise (CPS). To use: select liquid's viscosity, determine the correction factor, and multiply the Bag Selection Guide values by this factor.
