Summary

Product identification

The Carbflex™ Series CAF-250, CFB-PB10 Lead Reduction Carbon FILTER CARTRIDGE is a modified molded block cartridge designed for effective chlorine taste & odor, cyst, and lead reduction, coupled with premium sediment filtration. It is manufactured using proprietary Fibredyne™ technology.

Applications

  • Commercial
  • Food Service
  • Industrial
  • Residential Water

Features

  • Nominal 0.5 micron rating
  • 99.99% reduction of Cryptosporidium and Giardia cysts
  • Lead reduction through 2,000 gallons
  • Premium dirt-holding capacity
  • High chlorine taste & odor and bad taste & odor reduction
  • Manufactured entirely from FDA-compliant materials

Operating limits

  • Temperature Rating: 40˚F (4.4˚C)–180˚F (82.2˚C)

WARNING: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the unit.

Mechanical / hydraulic

  • Model: CFB-PB10
  • Dimensions: 2.875" x 9.75" (73 mm x 248 mm)
  • Micron Rating (Nominal): 0.5
  • Initial ΔP: 8.1 PSI @ 1 gpm (0.6 bar @ 3.8 Lpm)

A graph is provided illustrating the approximate net pressure drop (psi/Bar) versus flow rate (gpm/Lpm) for the CFB-PB10. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.

Materials of construction

  • Media: Bonded PAC
  • Endcaps: Polypropylene
  • Netting: Polyethylene
  • Gasket: Santoprene®

Performance

  • Chlorine Taste & Odor Reduction: >5,000 gallons @ 1 gpm (>18,900 L @ 3.8 Lpm)
  • Cyst Reduction: >99.95% reduction of Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Entamoeba, and Toxoplasma cysts (based on NSF Standard 53 protocol).
  • Lead Reduction: Effective through 2,000 gallons.

NOTE: Performance capacity depends on system design, flow rate, and certain other application conditions. Cartridges will contain a very small amount of carbon fines (very fine black powder); a new cartridge should be flushed with sufficient water to remove all traces of fines prior to using the water. Micron ratings are based on 85% or greater removal of a given particle size. Estimated capacity uses 2 ppm free available chlorine at 0.5 ppm breakthrough.

Certifications

Tested and Certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements only.
