ECP Series Pleated Cellulose Polyester Cartridges

Engineering summary from PDF text extraction for ECP Series Pleated Cellulose Polyester Cartridges. Verify every value with the OEM datasheet.

Summary

Product identification

The ECP Series Pleated Cellulose Polyester Cartridges are designed to replace CP and HFCP Series cartridges. They are manufactured from a special formulation of resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester fibers. This unique blend provides higher wet strength, high flow rates, and excellent dirt-holding capacity, while maintaining a very low pressure drop.

Key features include:

  • Higher wet strength than regular cellulose cartridges.
  • Minimal unloading and media migration.
  • High flow rates and dirt-holding capacity.
  • Extremely low pressure drop.

Materials of Construction

  • Media: Cellulose Polyester
  • Core: Polypropylene
  • Endcaps: Vinyl Plastisol

The media is pleated around a polypropylene core for strength. The ends are immersed in a thermo-setting vinyl plastisol, which fuses the components into a unified endcap and gasket.

Operating limits

  • Temperature Rating: 40–125ºF (4.4–51.7ºC)

WARNING: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

Cartridge Specifications and Performance Data

Media Surface Area: ECP cartridges offer more media surface area compared to many competitive cartridges.

  • Standard 10-inch ECP cartridge: 6 ft² (compared to most competitive cartridges with 4.5 ft²)
  • Standard 20-inch cartridge: 12 ft²
  • 10-inch BB cartridge: 18 ft²
  • 20-inch BB cartridge: 36 ft²

Endcap Color-Coding for Micron Ratings:

  • Tan: 1-micron
  • White: 5-micron
  • Blue: 20-micron
  • Yellow: 50-micron

See the official PDF for exact tabulated values, which include:

  • Model
  • Endcap Color
  • Maximum Dimensions (e.g., 2⅝" x 9¾" (67mm x 248mm) for standard 10-inch, 4½" x 9¾" (114mm x 248mm) for 10-inch BB)
  • Micron Rating (Nominal) (1, 5, 20, 50 micron)
  • Initial ∆P (psi) @ Flow Rate (gpm) (e.g., <1 psi @ 10 gpm for standard models, <1 psi @ 20 gpm for BB models)
