Summary
EPM-10C Carbon Briquette Cartridge
Product Identification
- Model: EPM-10C
- Description: Modified Epsilon Carbon-Briquette Cartridge
- Micron Rating: Nominal 10-micron
Key Features
- Enhanced dirt holding capacity for extended cartridge life.
- Reduces bad taste & odor and chlorine taste & odor.
- Low pressure drop.
- Economically priced, making it suitable for taste, odor, and chlorine taste & odor reduction, as well as sediment reduction.
- Manufactured with a process yielding higher porosity, which helps prevent plugging before adsorption capability is exhausted, maximizing carbon utilization while maintaining low pressure drop.
- Manufactured entirely from FDA-compliant materials.
Applications
Ideal choice for a wide range of residential, food service, commercial, and industrial applications.

- Maximum Dimensions: 2 7⁄8" x 9 3⁄4" (73 mm x 248 mm)
- Micron Rating (Nominal): 10
- Initial Pressure Drop (ΔP): 2.5 psi @ 1 gpm (0.17 bar @ 3.8 Lpm)
- Chlorine Taste & Odor Reduction Capacity: >3,000 gallons @ 1 gpm (18,900 L @ 3.8 Lpm)
Materials of Construction
- Filter Media: Bonded PAC
- End Caps: Polypropylene
- Outer Wrap: Polypropylene
- Netting: Polyethylene
- Gaskets: Buna-N
Operating Limits
- Temperature Rating: 40–165ºF (4.4–73.9ºC)
Important Notes
- Performance capacity depends on system design, flow rate, and certain other application conditions.
- When greater chlorine taste & odor reduction is needed, use the standard EP series blocks.
- Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
- EPM-10C cartridges will contain a very small amount of carbon fines (very fine black powder). After installation, follow instructions for flushing the cartridge to remove fines before using the water. Flush the tap for at least 20 seconds prior to using water for drinking or cooking purposes, especially if the tap has not been used daily.
- Micron ratings are based on 85% or greater removal of a given particle size, with data obtained from actual particle counts using AC Fine Test Dust at 1 gpm.
- Estimated capacity uses 2.0 ppm free available chlorine (FAC) at 0.5 ppm breakthrough.
