RFC Raial Flow Carbon Cartridges

Engineering summary from PDF text extraction for RFC Raial Flow Carbon Cartridges. Verify every value with the OEM datasheet.

Summary

Product identification

The RFC Series Radial Flow Carbon Cartridges are designed for effective chlorine taste & odor reduction. BB cartridges are suitable for point-of-entry (POE) and high flow rate applications. The unique design minimizes carbon fines in filtered water.

The cartridges are constructed with a 70-micron porous polyethylene outer shell and durable polypropylene end caps. 2 3⁄4" OD cartridges feature a polypropylene core, while 4 1⁄2" OD cartridges incorporate a spun polypropylene core. A bed of granular activated carbon (GAC) is sandwiched between the outer shell and the core.

Operating limits

  • Temperature Rating: 40–125ºF (4.4–51.7ºC)

Materials of construction

  • Filter Media: Granular Activated Carbon
  • Outer Shell: Polyethylene
  • End Caps: Polypropylene
  • Gasket: Buna-N
  • Inner Wraps/Core: Polypropylene

A table providing Approximate Net Pressure Drop versus Flow Rate is present in the original document, showing various flow rates in gpm (Lpm) and corresponding pressure drops in psi (Bar) for RFC-BB, RFC-20, RFC-30, RFC-30BB, RFC-10. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values as the numerical data in the extract is corrupted.

Certification

The TSGAC-10 is Tested and Certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements only.

Warnings and Notes

  • Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
  • Granular activated carbon cartridges will contain a very small amount of carbon fines (very fine black powder). After installation, a new cartridge should be flushed with sufficient water to remove all traces of the fines from your water system before using the water.
  • Each time filtered water is used for drinking or cooking purposes, it is recommended to run (flush) the tap for at least 20 seconds prior to using the water, particularly if the tap has not been used daily.
