Cleaning, Disinfection & Preservative Solution Guidelines
- Preservative Solution: Composed of water/glycerol/sodium metabisulfite. Cleaning involves draining slowly with feed water for a minimum of 4 hours, using at least 14 m³ of feed water.
- Disinfection: Chemically disinfect against biological contamination using 100 ppm sodium hypochlorite solution, circulated for 10 minutes, then soaked for 1 hour. Module must be drained until filtrate line is free from chlorine.
- Start-up: Backwash procedure with treated/clean water is advised.
Process Steps
The document outlines detailed process steps for Production, Backwash, and Chemically Enhanced Backwash (CEB), including valve positions and sequences for flushing, filtration, draining, air scouring, and rinsing with permeate water and/or chemicals.
