Description and use
AquaMax IEC151 is formulated to solubilize and disperse metallic and inorganic foulants, including iron, copper, aluminum, and hardness salts. It is intended to restore ion exchange resins that have become fouled by inorganic and organic compounds present in feedwater.

Fouling by metals can also catalyze decrosslinking and physical degradation of resin beads. Aluminum, often introduced with clarification aids, can complex with organic matter, leading to internal fouling and external blinding of the resin.
AquaMax IEC151 can be diluted with brine (regenerant) for application in softener and condensate polisher systems to control resin contamination and maintain peak efficiency. The frequency of application depends on the severity of the contamination. For severely fouled resin beds, out-of-service restoration may be necessary. Air lancing during application can enhance solvent contact.
The product is also effective in dissolving precipitated foulants in strong and weak acid cation units, strong base anion units, and media filtration units.
