Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: AquaMax IEC2
- Product Type: Ion exchange resin cleaner
Description and Use
AquaMax IEC2 is a liquid blend containing an acid chelant, an organic phosphonate, and a corrosion inhibitor. It is formulated to clean and restore ion exchange resins by solubilizing and dispersing metallic and inorganic foulants such as iron, copper, aluminum, and hardness salts. It helps to counteract resin degradation caused by metal catalysts and to address fouling from aluminum-organic complexes.
Typical Applications
- Restoration of fouled ion exchange resins.
- Control of resin contamination and maintenance of softener and condensate polisher performance.
- Dissolving precipitated foulants in strong and weak acid cation units, base anion units, and infiltration media.
- Can be used during regeneration, mixed with brine, or applied directly to the resin vessel.
Treatment and Feeding Requirements
- Feed Point: Mix with brine in the brine tank or add directly to the resin vessel through the manway.
- Feed Rate (In-Service): 4 - 8 liters per m³ of resin, depending on severity.
- Feed Rate (Out-of-Service): 40 - 80 liters per m³ of resin, depending on severity.
- Dilution: Dilute as necessary in the brine tank or add neat to the resin vessel. Ensure water level is even with the top of the resin bed.
- Equipment: Stainless steel transfer pump recommended. Air lance for agitation during out-of-service cleaning.
