Summary
Product Identification
- Product Name: Butaclean* 4802
- Product Type: Extrusion Enhancer
Description and Use
Butaclean 4802 is a liquid coagulant characterized by being strongly cationic, medium molecular weight, and a polyelectrolyte. Its unique combination of high charge density and optimal molecular weight results in a large, faster-settling floc.
Key Features
- Forms a dense, easily dewatered sludge.
- Requires little to no pH adjustment.
- Effective in pre-chlorinated systems.
- Forms faster settling floc.
- Performs efficiently and economically.
Typical Applications
Primarily used in the manufacturing of synthetic rubber, such as SBR or NBR. It provides enhanced SBR particle size for proper drying through charge neutralization and an optimal molecular weight range.
Treatment
Treatment levels for Butaclean 4802 are specific to each system's needs and should be applied according to SUEZ's established control procedures for the particular application.
Feeding
- Miscible with water in all dilutions.
- Can be diluted to any ratio to match chemical feed pump capacity.
- For optimal distribution, dilute to 10% or less solution with clear water.
- Can be applied neat (undiluted) to areas of high turbulence.
- Apply at points of vigorous agitation, such as the suction side of a water/wastewater pump.
- Recommended materials for tanks, pumps, and piping: PVC, polyethylene, or stainless steel.
- Avoid materials: Mild steel, copper, and aluminum for feeding concentrated Butaclean 4802.
- DO NOT MIX with other water or process treatment chemicals unless compatibility is confirmed and approved by SUEZ Product Management.
Storage and Handling
- Store in a cool area and protect from freezing.
- For maximum activity, use within six months.
- Spilled polymer is very slippery. Take precautions to avoid spills.
- In case of a spill, cover with inert absorbent material, sweep up, and place in a waste disposal container before flushing the area with water. Use sand, grit, or similar material for traction in wet areas.
