Description and Use

Filtermate C170 is a high molecular weight organic coagulant designed to enhance the efficiency of colloidal solids removal by sand and multimedia filters. It is injected directly ahead of multimedia filters.

Typical Applications

Filtermate C170 must be added prior to multimedia filters. Incompatible antiscalants/antifoulants and coagulants may congeal and cause severe membrane fouling. It should only be used in combination with compatible Hypersperse MDC products (e.g., Hypersperse MDC150 and Hypersperse MDC220).

Treatment and Feeding Requirements

• Typical Dosage Range: 1 to 6 mg/l.
• Example Dosage Calculation: For a system feed flow of 100 m³/day and a dosage of 2.0 mg/l, the chemical application rate would be 0.17 litres/day, assuming a specific gravity of 1.16.
• Note: Over- or under-dosing can lead to poor filtration results. Contact a SUEZ representative to define the optimal feed point and dosage rate.

Packaging Information

Filtermate C170 is a liquid material. Possible pack types include 25 kg pails, 230 kg plastic drums, and 1100 kg semi-bulk containers. Precautions should be taken to prevent the liquid from freezing.
