Hypersperse* MDC706 is a liquid antiscalant/antifoulant.
Description and use
Hypersperse* MDC706 is designed to control scale precipitates and reduce particulate fouling in membrane separation systems by dispersing particulate foulants. It is compatible with standard RO, NF, and EDR membranes and is effective over a wide pH range. The product is also compatible with feedwaters containing aluminum and iron oxides. It can be used with cationic polymer-based coagulants, such as SoliSep* MPT150, provided they are compatible with Hypersperse MDC706 to avoid membrane fouling. For optimal performance, it should be added before the static mixer or cartridge filter housing.
Operating limits
- Controls calcium scales up to LSI +3.0.
- Excellent at controlling calcium sulfate.
Feed water
- Compatible with feedwaters that contain aluminum and iron oxides.
Product water
- Certified for use in potable water applications (Certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60).
Dosing
- Typical dosage range: 3 to 6 ppm (mg/L).
- Maximum dosage for potable applications: 8 ppm (mg/L).
Dilution Guidelines
- On-site dilution is possible, but dilution to concentrations below 10% is generally not recommended.
- Use high-quality water for dilution, such as permeate or deionized water.
- Examine the make-down tank for microbiological growth when feeding diluted product. If growth is observed, sanitize the tank and reduce batch size.
- For best results, Hypersperse MDC706 should be fed neat.
