Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: Kleen* AC9500
- Product Type: Inhibited dry acid descaler
- Manufacturer: Water Technologies & Solutions (SUEZ)
Description and use
Kleen AC9500 is a scale and deposit remover. It contains a blend of sulphamic acid, corrosion inhibitors, a wetting agent, and exhaustion indicators. The inhibitors are designed to prevent attack on mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and copper alloys during cleaning.
Treatment and feeding requirements
- Normal Cleaning: Dissolve Kleen AC9500 in warm water (50 to 65°C / 122 to 149°F) to create a 5% solution in the system.
- Faster or Heavy Scale Cleaning: Use up to a 10% solution.
- Circulation: Circulate the solution through the equipment to be cleaned.
- Temperature for Faster Cleaning: 60 to 65°C (140 to 149°F).
Exhaustion Indicator:
- Freshly Prepared: Reddish purple
- ~80% Used: Orange
- Exhausted: Yellow
Cleaning is complete when the solution shows no further color change after 15 minutes hot or 2 hours cold. After cleaning, drain, flush with water, and then circulate a 1 to 2% alkaline product solution to neutralize residual acid. Finally, flush again with water.
