Summary
Product Identification
Kleen* AC9500E is an inhibited dry acid descaler.
Description and Use
Kleen AC9500E is a scale and deposit remover containing sulphamic acid, corrosion inhibitors, a wetting agent, and exhaustion indicators. The inhibitors are designed to prevent attack on mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and copper alloys during cleaning.
Treatment and Feeding Requirements
- Normal Cleaning: Dissolve Kleen AC9500E in warm water (50 to 65°C) to make a 5% solution in the system to be cleaned.
- Faster or Heavily Scaled Equipment: Use up to a 10% solution.
- Circulate the solution through the equipment to be cleaned.
- Cleaning action is enhanced when the solution is heated to 60 to 65°C.
Exhaustion Indicator:
- Freshly prepared solution: Reddish purple
- Approximately 80% used: Orange
- Exhausted: Yellow
Cleaning is complete when a reddish purple or orange solution shows no further color change in 15 minutes (hot) or 2 hours (cold).
Post-Cleaning Procedure:
- Drain the system.
- Flush with water.
- Circulate a 1 to 2% solution of an alkaline product to neutralize residual acid.
- Flush again with water.
