Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: Novus* CE2667E
  • Product Type: Liquid, high charge density, high molecular weight cationic emulsion polymer.

Description and Use

Novus CE2667E is designed for solid/liquid separation applications and sludge dewatering. It aims to increase the efficiency of sludge dewatering operations, improve suspended solids removal, and enhance effluent quality.

Typical Applications

  • Sludge dewatering (higher solids capture, drier cake, cleaner effluent)
  • Settling aid in wastewater clarification and thickening systems (decreased effluent suspended solids, higher quality effluents)
  • Secondary solids settling, thickening, and sludge dewatering in the organic chemical and refining industries
  • Emulsion breaking treatment for the chemical, refining, steel, and aluminium industries

Treatment and Feeding Requirements

  • Initial Preparation: Agitate with a drum mixer or recirculating pump for 30 to 60 minutes to ensure homogeneity.
  • Daily Maintenance: Remix the polymer for several minutes each day. Bulk system agitators or recirculation pumps should be operated for 30 to 60 minutes daily.
  • Stock Solution Preparation:
    • Fill the solution preparation tank 1/3 full of water.
    • Begin agitating and slowly add the premixed polymer.
    • Continue filling the tank with water to achieve a 0.5 % solution.
    • Mix at low speed (350 rpm) for an additional 10 to 20 minutes. Avoid high-speed agitation.
  • Application Dilution: Further dilute stock solutions to 0.2 % before the point of application. Continuous feed is recommended.
  • Pumping Neat Product: Use gear or diaphragm pumps suitable for viscosities up to approximately 2500 cps.
  • Materials of Construction:
    • Satisfactory: Type 304 stainless steel, polyethylene, rigid PVC for tanks, tubing, piping, and pumps.
    • Pump Components/Hose Linings: Viton and fluorosilicon type rubbers.
    • Short-term Installations: Flexible PVC tubing (e.g., Tygon*), Buna-N, and Neoprene rubber.
    • Avoid: Mild steel and copper alloys unless discoloration is acceptable.
  • Bulk Tank Storage: Should include a desiccant and agitator or recirculation system. Consult your SUEZ representative for bulk feed options.

Storage and Handling

  • Storage Temperature: Store at moderate temperatures (4-32 °C).
  • Protection: Protect from freezing and rapid or repeated changes in temperature (which can cause condensation).
  • Shelf Life: Use within six months to ensure maximum activity.
  • Spill Management: Spilled polymer is very slippery. Cover spills with an inert absorbent material, sweep up, place in a waste disposal container, and then flush the area with water. Use sand or grit in wet areas for traction.

General Properties
