Summary
Product Identification
SoliSep* MPT104 is a liquid, mildly anionic, polymeric flocculant. It is designed for use as a coagulant aid or flocculant to help remove particulate matter, turbidity, and color in membrane pretreatment applications.
Description and Use
- Easy-to-feed, liquid anionic polymer flocculant (not an emulsion polymer, no carrier solvent).
- Designed to improve coagulation and floc formation when used with inorganic coagulants.
- Suitable for use in front of RO pretreatment unit operations (MMF, UF, MF).
- Compatible with all Hypersperse* antiscalants.
- NSF approved for use in potable systems (certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60).
- Contains long-chain organic molecules that use charge functionality to aggregate coagulated solids into a denser, heavier floc that settles quickly and is readily removed by filtration.
- Designed for use with inorganic coagulants to enhance filtration and improve filtered water quality in membrane pretreatment.
- Chlorine resistant.
Application and Dosing
- Feed upstream of multimedia filters or upstream of a clarifier.
- When used with a coagulant, feed downstream of the coagulant feed point, considering coagulant reaction time.
- Feed to a point of good mixing, but avoid violent agitation as it may decrease product activity.
- Typical dosage range: 5 to 10 ppm (mg/L).
- Maximum dosage for potable applications: 50 ppm (mg/L).
- Consult your local SUEZ representative for optimal feed point and dosage.
- Can be fed neat (undiluted) with a suitable high-viscosity pump, or diluted to any ratio. Use high-quality water (e.g., permeate or deionized water) for dilution.
- Periodically examine dilution tanks for microbiological growth; sanitize and reduce batch size if growth is observed.
- For best results, feed neat.
- Over-dosing can adversely impact filter performance.
Packaging Information
Available in a variety of containers and delivery methods. Contact your SUEZ sales representative for details.
Safety Precautions
- Spilled polymer is very slippery.
- Small spills can be washed down with copious amounts of water.
- Large spills should be contained, absorbed on inert material, and disposed of as solid waste before flushing with water.
- A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is available upon request.
