Summary
Product identification
SoliSep* MPT135 is a liquid coagulant.
Description and use
SoliSep MPT135 is a strongly cationic, low molecular weight, liquid coagulant. It is designed for use in SUEZ treatment programs as a primary coagulant for the removal of colloidal materials from surface waters and recycled process waters.
Key features:
- NSF approved for potable water use (certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60).
- Targets low and medium NTU and color surface water.
- Promotes maximum solids and color removal, including dyes.
- Highly efficient emulsion breaker for oil-in-water emulsions.
- Efficient, economical, and easy to feed.
- Increases resistance to filter breakthrough.
- Reduces backwash waste.
- Compatible with and proven not to foul thin film composite membranes when used as directed.
- Produces excellent water quality through micro filters and multimedia filters used as pretreatment for reverse osmosis and other membrane systems.
- Particularly effective in low to medium turbidity surface water pretreatment.
- Produces a dense, rapid-forming floc that is readily held by multimedia filters and easily back-washed.
- Particularly effective in destabilizing oil-in-water emulsions, especially water-soluble oils, nonionic surfactants, glycols, and metal-working fluids.
Application
SoliSep MPT135 can be fed neat upstream of micro filters (hollow fiber) and multimedia filters. It can also be diluted with good quality water (permeate or DI water is best) to any ratio less than 10% to meet chemical feed pump capacity requirements.
Note: Incompatible antiscalant/antifoulant and coagulants may congeal and cause severe membrane fouling. SoliSep MPT135 should only be used in combination with compatible Hypersperse* MDC products, such as Hypersperse MDC150 and Hypersperse MDC220.
Dosing information
- Typical dosing range is between 1 and 10 ppm (mg/L).
- For high NTU waters, higher doses up to 40 ppm might be required.
- Bench testing is recommended to confirm dose levels.
- Over and under-dosing may decrease filtration efficiency.
SoliSep MPT135 is NSF approved for use in potable water applications at a feed rate up to 100 ppm (mg/L).
Storage and handling
- Store at moderate temperatures of 40 to 90 °F (4 to 32 °C).
- Protect from freezing. If frozen, thaw and mix thoroughly prior to use.
- For maximum coagulation activity, use within six months, though generally stable for up to one year.
Packaging information
