Summary

Product Identification

SoliSep* MPT170 is a liquid organic coagulant designed to improve colloidal solids removal by sand and multimedia filters.

Description and Use

SoliSep MPT170 is injected directly ahead of multi-media filters to significantly improve their efficiency in removing colloidal solids. It is particularly noted for its proven performance in treating feedwaters from open seawater intakes.

Key Benefits

  • Increases resistance to filter breakthrough.
  • Proven performance in treatment of feedwaters sourced from open seawater intakes.
  • Minimises backwash waste.
  • Compatible with Hypersperse* MDC150 and Hypersperse MDC220 antiscalant/antifoulant.

Typical Applications

SoliSep MPT170 must be added prior to multi-media filters.

Note: Incompatible antiscalant/antifoulant and coagulants may congeal and cause severe membrane fouling. SoliSep MPT170 should only be used in combination with compatible Hypersperse MDC products such as Hypersperse MDC150, MDC220, MDC704, MDC712, MDC714, MDC772, MDC775, MDC706, MDC776. Please contact your SUEZ representative for more details and other product compatibility.

Treatment and Feeding Requirements

  • Typical dosage range: 1 to 6 mg/l.
  • The specific gravity used in the example calculation is 1.16.

Dosing Example: If the system feed flow is 100 m³/day and the SoliSep MPT170 dosage is determined to be 2.0 mg/l:

  • Calculation for kg/day: Feed flow (m³/day) x SoliSep (mg/l) / 1000 = kg/day
    • 100 x 2.0 / 1000 = 0.2 kg/day
  • Calculation for litres/day: (kg/day) / Specific Gravity = litres/day of SoliSep
    • 0.2 / 1.16 = 0.17 litres/day

Over and under-dosing may result in poor filtration results. Please contact your SUEZ representative to define the optimal feed point and dosage rate.

Packaging Information

SoliSep MPT170 is a liquid material available in various customized containers, including:

  • 25 kg pails
  • 230 kg plastic drums
  • 1100 kg semi-bulk containers

Contact your SUEZ representative for more details.
