Product identification
The KSB Amarex N is a fully floodable, non-self-priming, close-coupled submersible motor pump designed for waste water applications. It operates at 50 Hz and is available in nominal diameters from DN 50 to DN 100.
Key design features include:
- Drive: Three-phase asynchronous squirrel-cage motor.
- Shaft seal: Two bi-directional mechanical seals in tandem arrangement, with a liquid reservoir.
- Bearings: Grease-lubricated, sealed for life, and maintenance-free. Reinforced bearings are optionally available for S impeller models.

- Coating: Standard environmentally-friendly KSB top coat (two-component epoxy paint), colour RAL 5002, film thickness = 80 µm. An optional 300 µm coating is available.

The Amarex N pump is suitable for a wide range of waste water applications, including:

- Non-corrosive waste water, including ammonium water, ammonium hydroxide 5% NH₄OH, urea 25% (NH₂)₂-CO, potassium hydroxide 10% KOH, calcium hydroxide 5% Ca(OH)₂, sodium hydroxide 5% NaOH, sodium carbonate 30% Na₂CO₃.
- Non-corrosive waste water containing aliphatic hydrocarbons (e.g., oils, petrol, butane, methane), aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g., benzene, styrene), or chlorinated hydrocarbons (e.g., tetrachloroethylene, ethylene chloride, chloroform, methylene chloride).
- Highly abrasive industrial waste water (chemically neutral), such as lime water (for sinter contents < 5 g/l), lime milk containing quartz and pigment suspension (up to 15% lime milk), and water/sand mixture (up to 5 g/l solids content).
Recommended materials for specific fluids:
- EN-GJL-250 (grey cast iron): For most waste water types, grey water, river water, contaminated surface water, mixed water, sludges, and non-corrosive industrial waste water.
- Norihard 0.9635 (white cast iron): For highly abrasive waste water causing wear (solids contents < 5 g/l), chips/swarf, abrasive substances, lime water, lime milk, and water/sand mixtures.
- Noridur 1.4593 (duplex stainless steel): For corrosive waste water.

- Power cable: Standard 10 m rubber-sheathed cable (H07RN8-F 7G1.5²). Optional lengths of 15 m, 20 m, 30 m, 40 m, 50 m are available. Other cable types include 8-core rubber-sheathed cable (H07RN8-F 8x1.5²) for pumps with leakage sensors, TEHSITE power cable (8G1.5), and shielded rubber-sheathed cable (S07RC4N8-F-8G1.5) for frequency inverter operation.

- Winding temperature (YL version): Includes a temperature monitoring circuit (bimetal switch with automatic reset and start-up) and a limiting circuit (bimetal switch via a tripping unit with manual reset).
