AU

PDF datasheet mirror for AU (KSB Pumps). Verify with OEM before design.

Summary

Product Identification

The KSB AU series comprises horizontal self-priming centrifugal pumps, designed for pumping dirty and sandy water, or water with suspended solids. They feature an open or semi-open impeller with wide step and plate adjustment. Sealing is achieved by a mechanical seal. The robust design allows for driving by electric or explosion motors, with ATEX-compliant versions available. The pump casing has axial suction and radial impulsion, with a single-stage semi-open impeller.

Fields of application include:

  • Water and sea water cooling systems
  • Bilge
  • Ballast
  • Flushing and fire-fighting
  • Emergency fire-fighting
  • Sea water transfer
  • Training of mine and quarry faces
  • General and local floods

Key benefits:

  • Self-priming: Only requires the pump casing to remain filled with fluid.
  • Robust: Features oversized shafts and bearings.
  • Versatile: Available in bare shaft, monobloc, and pumpset on base plate versions, suitable for electric, gasoline, or diesel engines.
  • Multiple accessories: Options for fixed installation base plates, manual trolleys, trailers with pneumatic wheels, and towing brakes.
  • Waste water pumping: Semi-opened impeller allows for a large ball passage, up to 68 mm.

Operating Limits

  • Capacity, max: 600 m³/h (at 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Head, max: 52 m (at 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Operating temperature, max: 120 ºC (at 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Operating temperature, min: -10 ºC (at 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Operating pressure, max: 10 bar (at 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Operating speed, max: 3000 rpm (at 50 Hz), 3600 rpm (at 60 Hz)
  • Painted surface maximum temperature: 60 ºC

Feed Water

The pumps are designed for dirty and sandy water, or water with suspended solids.

  • Solid sizes: Varies by pump size, ranging from 6 mm to 45 mm. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values per model.
  • Percentage of solids: ≤ 3%
  • Solids concentration: ≤ 4 g/l

Electrical

  • Construction:
    • Non-monobloc pumps: IM 1001 (IM B3) construction.
    • Monobloc pumps: IM 3001 (IM B5) construction.
  • Combustion Motor Option (Monobloc variant):
    • AU-M3/18/D: Hatz 1B20, 3.1 kW (at 3000 rpm)
    • AU-M50/25/D: Hatz 1B40, 6.8 kW (at 3000 rpm)
