Summary

Product identification

The KSB Estigia is a vertical immersion pump designed for installation in closed tanks under atmospheric pressure. It is a single-stage volute casing pump, built in accordance with DIN EN ISO 5199 (with comments).

Key design features:

  • Pump casing: Radially split volute casing with integrally cast pump feet and replaceable casing wear rings.
  • Drive: Coupling between pump and motor.
  • Shaft seal: Double mechanical seal or lip seal.
  • Impeller types: Various application-oriented impeller types, including Closed (C), Channel (K), and Vortex (F).
  • Bearings: Various application-oriented bearings.
  • Automation options: PumpDrive, PumpMeter, KSB SuPremE.

Operating limits

  • Flow rate (Q):
    • ≤ 1160 m³/h (50 Hz)
    • ≤ 1450 m³/h (60 Hz)
  • Head (H): ≤ 110 m (both 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Fluid temperature (T): ≥ -30 °C to ≤ +100 °C (both 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Operating pressure (p): ≤ 16 bar (both 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Connection flange (DN): 25 - 250 (both 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Maximum immersion depth: ≤ 6 m (both 50 Hz and 60 Hz)
  • Maximum speed:
    • ≤ 3000 rpm (50 Hz)
    • ≤ 3600 rpm (60 Hz)
  • Tank pressure: Designed for atmospheric or slightly pressurized tanks. Not for use in tanks under vacuum. The pressure inside the tank must always be higher than the pressure outside. Maximum permissible pressure differences between inside and outside the tank vary by flange DN, e.g., 0.500 bar for DN500-DN700, down to 0.100 bar for DN1800.

Impeller characteristics based on fluid properties:

  • Closed Impeller:
    • Applications: Clean fluids (max. suspended solids content: 50 ppm, 0.50 µm), containing no or very little trapped gas (≤ 2 %).
    • Disadvantages: Not suitable for handling solids in suspension.
    • Bearings: Plain bearings made of SiC/SiC, lubricated by the fluid handled.
  • Channel Impeller:
    • Applications: Contaminated fluids containing solids (approx. 3 %, non-abrasive). For water containing sand: max. 6 g/l (at 1000 rpm max., and hard material). Containing no or very little trapped gas (≤ 2 %).
    • Disadvantages: Limited allowable solids size, not suitable for solid particles liable to deposit.
    • Bearings: Plain bearings lubricated by clean external liquid.
  • Vortex Impeller:
    • Applications: Contaminated fluids containing long fibres and stringy material (5 % of suspended solids). Large free passage. Allowable gas content (up to 8 %).
    • Disadvantages: Low efficiency, high NPSHR.
    • Bearings: External grease lubrication using an electrically driven auxiliary pump.

Electrical

  • Motor type: KSB surface-cooled IEC three-phase current squirrel-cage motor.
  • Frequency: 50 Hz/60 Hz.
  • Enclosure: IP55.
  • Thermal class: F with temperature sensor (3 PTC thermistors).
  • Duty type: Continuous duty S1.
  • Motor rating (PN): From 0.75 kW to 132.00 kW.
