Product identification

The Movitec VCI is a KSB Multistage High-pressure Immersion Centrifugal Pump.

Main applications:

  • Machine tools
  • Industrial washing machines
  • Condensate transport

Design details:

  • Multistage high-pressure immersion centrifugal pump
  • Vertical installation
  • Optional blind stages

Product benefits:

  • Top quality due to advanced high-precision production technology and durable high-grade materials.
  • Excellent reliability from a compact, easy-to-replace cartridge seal and automatic return of small amounts of leakage into the tank.
  • Energy-saving, state-of-the-art pump solution with high efficiency levels, optimum flow passage, high-efficiency motors, and precision engineering of hydraulic components.
  • Flexible use through modular design, optional blind stages, and versatile seal materials for a wide variety of applications, plus numerous motor options.
  • Easy replacement of competitor products due to comparable dimensions.
  • High energy efficiency, low investment, and maintenance costs contribute to low life cycle costs.

Operating limits

  • Flow rate (Q): ≤ 22.5 m³/h
  • Head (H): ≤ 249 m
  • Fluid temperature (T): ≥ -10 °C to ≤ +120 °C
  • Operating pressure (p): ≤ 25 bar

Installation and fluid levels:

  • Minimum installation height (h2 min):
    • 2B, 4B, 6B: 25 mm
    • 10B, 15C: 40 mm
  • Minimum level of fluid handled (h1 min):
    • 2B, 4B, 6B: 61 mm
    • 10B, 15C: 82 mm
  • Minimum flow rate (Qmin): Varies by pump size and frequency. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.

Feed water

Fluids handled:

  • Condensate
  • Cooling lubricants
  • Emulsions
  • Lyes
  • Oil

Fluid temperature:

  • Permissible temperature range for selection information: -10 °C to +90 °C.
  • General maximum temperature: +120 °C, unless otherwise indicated for specific fluids.
  • For temperatures <0 °C, consult KSB.
  • For temperatures >+50 °C, check and observe the vapor pressure of the fluid handled.
  • High temperatures will increase corrosion (reference temperature = +20 °C).

Solids content:

  • If the fluid handled contains solids such as steel chips or steel chip dust, check the permissible particle concentration with KSB.
  • Mechanical seal silicon carbide / carbon (Q1B): Not suitable for fluids containing solid substances, including particles from salt crystallization at low fluid temperatures.
  • Mechanical seal tungsten carbide / tungsten carbide (U3U3): Solids content max. 20 ppm (depending on particle size), with the exception of corrosive fluids. Fluids with a higher solids content are not permitted (ppm = 1 mg/kg).

Permissible fluids overview: The pump is suitable for a wide range of fluids including various alcohols, alkaline solutions, water-oil emulsions, ethylene glycol-based antifreeze, glycerine, various salts (e.g., potassium hydroxide, sodium carbonate), and numerous types of oil and water (e.g., clean water, hot water, boiler feed water, cooling water, river water, tap water). Max. concentration is 100% unless indicated otherwise. See the official PDF for a detailed table of fluid compatibility, maximum percentages, and maximum temperatures for specific substances and corresponding mechanical seal codes.

Electrical

Drive:

  • Surface-cooled KSB squirrel-cage motor
  • Thermal class F to IEC 34-1
  • Efficiency class IE3 to IEC 60034-30 (≥ 0.75 kW)
  • Enclosure IP55
  • Frequency: 50 Hz/60 Hz
  • Optional: Harting connector, type HAN 10E

Motor specifications (examples by code):

  • C: 230 / 400 V - IE2
  • U: 230 / 400 V - IE3
  • V: 400 / 690 V - IE3
  • W: 230 / 400 V - IE4/IE5 (KSB SuPremE)
  • X: 400 / 690 V - IE4/IE5 (KSB SuPremE)
  • M: 230 V, single-phase AC motor

Technical data (Power and Current): Power (PN) and current (IN) values are tabulated for various pump sizes and motor configurations (e.g., 3230 / 400 V, 3400 / 690 V) at 50 Hz and 60 Hz, specifically for units with cartridge mechanical seal 56 (B/ESIC-Q7 VGG/Y10). See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.

Mechanical / hydraulic
