Summary
Product identification
The WKTR/WKB series consists of vertical, high-pressure centrifugal pumps. They are designed as per API 610 10th edition, Category VS6.
The WKB variant is available without a can execution, on request.
Designation:
WKTR: Type series100: Nominal diameter of discharge nozzle in mm5: Number of stages
Operating limits
- Pump sizes: DN 40 to DN 150
- Capacity (Q): Up to 111 l/s (400 m³/h)
- Total head (H): Up to 500 m
- Speed (n): Up to 3600 rpm
- Operating pressure: Up to 51 kg/cm²
- Operating temperature: -40 to 200 °C
Mechanical / hydraulic
Applications: WKTR pumps are suitable for hydrocarbons in refinery and petrochemical applications, as well as for ammonia and condensate handling where NPSHA (Net Positive Suction Head Available) is critical.
Design: These are vertical, radially split, ring section pumps featuring radial single-entry, multistage impellers. Stages are sealed by O-rings and clamped together by tie rods. A provision on the can allows mounting the complete pump on a separate mounting plate for enhanced structural stability. Suction and discharge nozzles are always horizontal and in-line.
Materials of Construction:
- Distributor casing & Can: ASTM A 516 Gr. 70, ASTM A 516 Gr. 60, SS 304 / SS 316 (on request)
- Suction casing: WCB, CA6NM, CF8M
- Discharge casing: WCB, CA6NM, CF8M
- Stage casing: WCB, CA6NM, CF8M
- Stuffing box housing: WCB, CA6NM, CF8M
- Diffuser suction: CA6NM, CF8M
- Diffuser: CA6NM, CF8M
- Pump/Intermediate/Drive shaft: AISI 410
- Impeller suction: CA6NM, CF8M
- Impeller (stage): CA6NM, CF8M
- Impeller ring: 1.4024.19, CF8M, NiCi
- Wearing ring: Cr HARD 400, CF8M col. Coated, 1.4024.19
- Spacer sleeve: NiCi, AISI410, AISI316
- Column pipe: A 105 + A 106 Gr. B, SS 304
- Tie Rod: B8M
Key Features:
- Column Pipe: Features higher diameters for lower frictional losses and offers various combinations to meet specific requirements.
- Journal Bearing: Includes bearing spiders and high-grade carbon bearings supported by the pumping medium, with a reduced bearing span for increased rotor stability.
- Conical Coupling: Designed for reverse rotation and provides excellent alignment.
- Hydraulics: Offers higher efficiency across a wider flow range and interchangeability of impeller and diffuser with WK series pumps.
- Radial Carbon Bearing: Positioned on the rear side of the suction impeller to prevent dry running.
- Suction Impeller: Engineered for lower NPSHr.
- Motor Lantern: A rigid component serving as a drive stool, providing a controlled location diameter for easy flange mounting of the motor.
- Thrust Bearing: An oil-lubricated four-point contact ball bearing suitable for reverse rotation and designed to handle the entire pump load. Oil mist lubrication is available on request.
- Shaft Sealing: The shaft seal housing accommodates all combinations of seals as per API 682. A spacer-type coupling allows mechanical seal removal without disassembling the drive. Gland packing execution is optional. A cooled stuffing box is provided for high-temperature applications. The in-board seal is subjected to suction pressure, and an adaptor with a carbon bearing acts as a radial bearing, extending seal life.
- Protective Covers: All exposed rotating parts are equipped with protective covers for human safety.
- Distributor Casing: Designed to meet API requirements, with ASME suction and discharge flanges that are in-line. Both suction and discharge chambers are designed for the same pressure rating.
- Can: Designed for a separate mounting plate arrangement, featuring through-bolting between the can and distributor casing, and designed for discharge pressure.
