Installation Lubricants
- For cartridge installation, use only water or glycerin to lubricate seals.
- Do not use petroleum or vegetable-based oils or solvents, as they may damage the cartridge and void the warranty.
Chemical Handling (Cleaning and Sanitization)
- Exposure to Chemical Oxidants: May be necessary and useful for thorough cleaning and sanitization.
- Common Oxidants in Food Applications: Peracetic acid blends, hydrogen peroxide, and sodium hypochlorite. Consult KMS for recommended addition rates, frequency of use, and tolerance.
- Chlorine Elimination: Potassium metabisulfite (without catalyst such as cobalt) is the preferred chemical to eliminate residual chlorine or similar oxidizers prior to processing the feed stream.
