Product Identification

The TRISEP® DS Food & Dairy UP005XT series elements feature a NADIR® UP005 polyethersulfone (PES) membrane, cast on a polypropylene support material. These elements are designed for cleaning at high temperature and high pH conditions. The membrane has a nominal 5,000 Da molecular weight cut-off, offering high protein rejection. In field studies, the UP005 membrane reportedly showed as much as 75% less protein passage than competitive membranes.

TRISEP DS elements are built with FDA compliant materials, comply with European food regulations (EU 10/2011 and EC 1935/2004), and meet USDA standards. They also conform to USDA 3A sanitary standard 45-03 and have Halal and Kosher certifications.

The elements are available with different feed spacers and in common industry sizes. All models on this datasheet have a netting outer wrap and diamond-shaped feed spacers.

Important Information

  • Start-up: It is recommended to flush elements for 30 minutes at low pressure and discard permeate during the flush prior to operation. For a detailed procedure, refer to the "Element Start-Up Guide – System Start-Up (TSG-O-005)".
  • Cleaning: Elements require periodic cleaning to ensure proper operation and prevent membrane damage. Refer to the "Membrane Cleaning Guide – Food & Dairy: UF & MF Elements (TSG-C-004)".
  • Storage: Proper storage is necessary to ensure correct operation and prevent membrane damage. Refer to the "Element Storage Guides (TSG-O-009 & TSG-O-010)".
