Summary

Product identification

The SPIRA-CEL® OY Industry NP Series modules feature NADIR® NP polyethersulfone (PES) membranes, which exhibit nanofiltration properties after high-pressure (40 bar) stabilization. These membranes offer high stability against temperature and pH, making them suitable for cleaning acid solutions and biotechnological applications requiring extreme cleaning conditions.

Membrane Characteristics

  • NADIR® NP010
    • Nominal M.W.C.O.: 1,000 – 1,200 Da
    • Na₂SO₄ Salt Rejection: 35 – 75%
  • NADIR® NP030
    • Nominal M.W.C.O.: 500 – 600 Da
    • Na₂SO₄ Salt Rejection: 77 – 95%

Test conditions for salt rejection: 5,000 ppm Na₂SO₄, 40 bar (580 psi), 20°C (68°F).

Design information

All models in this series include an industry hard shell and one brine seal. Models ending in "D" have parallel feed spacers, while other models have diamond-shaped feed spacers. Anti-telescoping devices (ATDs) are attached to the element ends by default but can be provided loose upon request.

Important Information

  • Start-up: MANN+HUMMEL Water & Fluid Solutions recommends flushing elements for 30 minutes at low pressure and discarding permeate during the flush.
  • Cleaning: TRISEP® membrane elements require periodic cleaning. Refer to the Membrane Cleaning Guide (TSG-C001).
  • Storage: TRISEP membrane elements must be stored appropriately. Refer to Element Storage Guides (TSG-O-009 & TSG-O-010).

Customizable Specialty Elements

MANN+HUMMEL Water & Fluid Solutions offers a range of customizable membranes and element designs for challenging water and process applications, including low-fouling RO, submerged UF, continuous high temperature, ultra-high pressure, and unique sanitary designs.
