Product identification

TRISEP® XN45 are high flow nanofiltration (NF) elements based on a piperazine membrane. They are designed for versatility in process streams and low-pressure water purification, offering high rejection of divalent ions while allowing most monovalent ions to pass. The molecular weight cut-off is in the range of 300-500 Daltons, making them suitable for demineralization of organic solutes. Flow rates are based on test conditions of 2,000 ppm MgSO₄, 7.6 bar (110 psi), 25°C (77°F), 15% recovery, pH 8.0, and 30 minutes operation. Actual flow rates may be up to 15% lower than the values shown. All models on this sheet feature a fiberglass outer wrap. All 47 mil feed spacers are parallel; all other models utilize diamond shaped feed spacers. All models include anti-telescoping devices (ATDs) attached to the element ends and one brine seal. All 4040 and 8040 models include one interconnector.

Dimension "C" refers to the Inner Diameter for Female elements and Outer Diameter for Male elements. Male elements also include a protruding permeate tube, indicated as "D", with a dimension of 25.4 mm (1.0 in).

Important Information:

  • Start-up: MANN+HUMMEL Water & Fluid Solutions recommends flushing elements for 30 minutes at low pressure and discarding permeate during the flush prior to operation. Refer to the Element Start-Up Guide (TSG-O-005) for detailed procedures.
  • Cleaning: TRISEP® membrane elements require periodic cleaning to ensure proper operation and prevent membrane damage. Refer to the Membrane Cleaning Guide (TSG-C-001).
  • Storage: Proper storage of TRISEP® membrane elements is crucial to ensure proper operation and prevent damage. Refer to the Element Storage Guides (TSG-O-009 & TSG-O-010).
  • Pretreatment is recommended for the removal of free chlorine and other oxidizing agents to prevent damage to membranes, as contact with polyamide membranes may lead to shortened operating life or membrane failure. Such oxidation damage is excluded from warranty. Refer to the Membrane Operating Guide (TSG-O-012).
