Summary

Product Identification

The TurboClean® High Temp UF Elements are manufactured by MANN+HUMMEL Water & Fluid Solutions and capable of continuous operation at temperatures up to 80°C. These elements feature a patented sanitary hard-shell design, which provides approximately 60% less bypass flow compared to other sanitary elements. They are designed to be stronger than net-wrapped sanitary elements, capable of withstanding higher pressure drops. With the tightest outer diameter (OD) tolerance and optimal circularity, these elements are designed for easy loading and unloading.

Membrane Characteristics

The membrane type used is Polyethersulfone (PES).

All models on this sheet feature a TurboClean sanitary outer wrap.

Operating Limits

  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 80°C (176°F)
  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 6.9 bar (100 psi) at 80°C (176°F)
  • Cleaning pH Range: 1.0 – 12.0 (Refer to Membrane Cleaning Guides for temperature and pH limits)
  • Chlorine Tolerance: 200 ppm (sanitization) at pH ≥ 10.5
  • Maximum Pressure Drop at 30°C:
    • 1.4 bar (20 psi) per element
    • 6 bar (80 psi) per housing
  • Maximum Pressure Drop at 70°C:
    • 0.3 bar (5 psi) per element
    • 1.4 bar (20 psi) per housing

Mechanical / Hydraulic

All 4040 and 8040 models include anti-telescoping devices (ATDs) attached to the ends of the element and one interconnector. For Female elements, Dimension “C” represents the Inner Diameter, while for Male elements, “C” is the Outer Diameter. Male elements are equipped with a protruding permeate tube, where Dimension “D” is 25.4 mm (1.0 in).

Regulatory and Certifications

All models on this sheet utilize FDA (CFR Title 21) compliant materials and comply with EU regulations (EC) No. 1935/2004 and No. 10/2011. They also hold Halal and Kosher certifications. All 38-inch long models conform to USDA 3A sanitary standard 45-03.

Important Information

  • Start-up: MANN+HUMMEL Water & Fluid Solutions recommends flushing elements for 30 minutes at low pressure and discarding permeate during this flush prior to operation. A more detailed start-up procedure is available in the Element Start-Up Guide – System Start-Up (TSG-O-005).
  • Cleaning: TurboClean® membrane elements require periodic cleaning to ensure proper operation and prevent membrane damage. Refer to the Membrane Cleaning Guides for instructions.
  • Storage: Proper storage of TurboClean membrane elements is essential to ensure proper operation and prevent damage. Refer to Element Storage Guides (TSG-O-009 & TSG-O-010).
