Summary
Product Identification
TurboClean® High Purity Heat-Sanitizable RO Elements are designed for applications demanding ultrapure water, such as dialysis, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor rinse water. These elements feature a MICRODYN-NADIR polyamide heat-sanitizable RO membrane, packaged in a unique, sanitary, patented hard shell, and offer approximately 60% less bypass flow than net-wrapped elements.
- Membrane Type: Polyamide RO-HS
- Key Features:
- Strongest Sanitary Element
- Energy Savings
- Most Effective Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Less Scaling
- Lower Effective Recovery
- Ease of Installation
- Materials: All models use FDA (CFR Title 21) compliant materials.
| Model | Part Number | Permeate Flow m³/day (GPD) | Membrane Area m² (ft²) | Feed Spacer Thickness (mil) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TurboClean® HP 4040-RO-HS-M | 165035441 | 5.7 (1,500) | 7.9 (85) | 28 |
| TurboClean® HP 8040-RO-HS | 162080843 | 34.1 (9,000) | 37.6 (405) | 28 |
Note on Performance: Permeate flow values are based on test conditions after heat sanitization: 2,000 ppm NaCl, 10.3 bar (150 psi), 25°C (77°F), 15% recovery, pH 8.0, 30 minutes operation. Heat-sanitizable elements will experience a one-time flux loss after sanitization, and flow rates will be no more than 15% below the values shown.

Mechanical / Hydraulic
All models feature a TurboClean sanitary outer wrap, diamond-shaped feed spacers, and include anti-telescoping devices (ATDs) attached to the ends of the element and one interconnector. A brine seal is not included and is not required. Male elements have a protruding permeate tube with Dimension "D" of 25.4 mm (1.0 in).
| Model | Element Weight kg (lb) | Dim. A mm (inches) | Dim. B mm (inches) | Dim. C mm (inches) | Permeate Tube |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TurboClean® HP 4040-RO-HS-M | 4 (9) | 1,016 (40.0) | 99 (3.9) | 19.1 (0.75) | Male |
| TurboClean® HP 8040-RO-HS | 16 (36) | 1,016 (40.0) | 201 (7.9) | 28.6 (1.125) | Female |
Note on Dimensions: For Female elements, Dim. "C" is the Inner Diameter. For Male elements, Dim. "C" is the Outer Diameter. Shipping weight depends on packaging material and quantity.
Important Information
- Start-up: MANN+HUMMEL Water & Fluid Solutions recommends flushing elements for 30 minutes at low pressure and discarding permeate prior to operation.
- Cleaning: Elements must be cleaned periodically to ensure proper operation and prevent membrane damage.
- Storage: Elements must be stored appropriately to ensure proper operation and prevent membrane damage.
