Summary

Product identification

The TRISEP® HPR series consists of High Pressure Industrial Membrane Elements, designed for a maximum operating pressure of 83 bar (1,200 psi). These elements are suitable for a variety of industrial and wastewater purification applications, including challenging ones like leachate, minimum-liquid discharge, and high salt concentrations, utilizing high rejection membranes.

Membrane Characteristics

The TRISEP® HPR membranes are available in several types with specific solute rejection rates:

  • RO: Polyamide, 99.5% NaCl rejection
  • X-20™: Low-Fouling Polyamide, 99.5% NaCl rejection
  • TS80: Polyamide, 99.2% MgSO₄ rejection
  • TS40: Polypiperazine, 99.0% MgSO₄ rejection
  • XN45: Polypiperazine, 96.0% MgSO₄ rejection
  • UA60: Polypiperazine, 80.0% MgSO₄ rejection

Operating limits

  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 83 bar (1,200 psi)
  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 45°C (113°F)
  • Cleaning pH Range: 1.0 – 12.0
  • Chlorine Tolerance: < 0.1 ppm
  • Maximum Pressure Drop at 30°C:
    • 1.4 bar (20 psi) per element
    • 6 bar (80 psi) per housing

Mechanical / hydraulic

All models on this sheet feature a fiberglass outer wrap and diamond-shaped feed spacers. They also include anti-telescoping devices (ATDs) attached to the ends of the element and one brine seal. All 4040 and 8040 models include one interconnector. Male elements have a protruding permeate tube, with Dimension “D” being 25.4 mm (1.0 in).

Important Information

  • Start-up: Elements should be flushed for 30 minutes at low pressure, with permeate discarded during the flush, prior to operation.
  • Cleaning: Periodic cleaning of TRISEP® membrane elements is required to ensure proper operation and prevent membrane damage. Refer to Membrane Cleaning Guides for details.
  • Storage: Appropriate storage of TRISEP membrane elements is necessary for proper operation and to prevent membrane damage. Refer to Element Storage Guides (TSG-O-009 & TSG-O-010).

Customizable Specialty Elements

The product line offers a range of membranes and element designs for challenging water and process applications. These include technologies such as low-fouling RO, submerged UF, continuous high temperature, ultra-high pressure, and unique sanitary designs.
